Sandy Lane Denny F, L1 33 Front row L3 I think is Dave Ryder from Nutley NJ. L4 possibly Paul Dafney(?) From New Bedford area(?) L5 is me! I'm almost positive. L6 I think is an English guy that showed up that year. Back row L4. I believe is a guy Paul D. went to college with. Do we have cigars in our hands? Why were we all dressed up? This may have been all the counselors and maybe we had a final dinner? Probably the last summer, '71. I would have been 17. Thanks, Dan Murphy 64-71.
Photo #33 is historic in a way. It is the last night of Camp Clark, though we didn't know it then. It is the gathering of the staff after the final dinner on Saturday night after all the campers had left. We had spent the day taking out all the docks and boats from the water and securing everything. Tropical storm Doria was on the way. Note how a number of people are holding cigars. That was a tradition at that point after the steak dinner we all had a cigar and tried to keep the ash on it for as long as possible. BTW, I'm in the middle of the front row in the ugly red jeans and a silly kerchief tied around my neck. Others in the photo I can remember are back row third from the left I believe is Jim Whitehurst, who was the Asst. Director. 4th from the left in the back row is Bill Pulver, then Al Hastings (but you probably knew that). To my left in the front row is Dan Murphy and to his left is Peter. I don't remember his last name but he was from the UK. He introduced everyone to Monty Python. Submitted by Paul Daffinee
